Some dreams have more to do than others, so it's up to you to find and support the ones you enjoy. This is also a great way to find active players! There aren't as many dreams uploaded as there used to be, so at times it may be easier to use DreamNova a player-made bot that records information on all available dreams. To find player-made 'dreams,' you must go to a main map that allows uploading clicking on the second tab on the left of your screen will bring up your teleport buttons (we recommend AI!). Many cases, upon entering a dream, you will receive entry-text this will usually give you a run-down of what the dream is about, and any spoken commands available-you can likely find any added rules here. While these are also obviously subject to the Terms of Service for Furcadia, many dreams will impose additional rules to help them run as intended. Snowside Peak for example, has a custom 'skin'/HUD/UI, patches, sprites, and scripted functions. Snowside Peak is uploaded in Allegria Island, making it T+ĭreams are player-made maps that contain as much or as little as they would like within the boundaries of the game. Each map also has an audience rating, from E and T+ to 18+ and Adult Only. Main maps are essentially a hub for people to explore, interact, and ultimately upload their own content on-more on that below.Īs these are the official maps of the game, they allow the use of default avatars/sprites, purchased items or abilities, and of course use the basic Terms of Service rules. To understand the basis of Furcadia, you have to understand two different concepts: what is a main map, and what is a 'dream'? We'll get back to you as soon as we can (if you're still online), but no guarantee on when :( Working full-time means we aren't available during work hours, so you may receive an automated response. refers to your message of course (no need to type ).
If there isn't a Beekin online, feel free to whisper myself or one of our Snowside Peak veterans by typing this in the chat:
It's highly recommended you join with a friend or utilize the 'Welcome Beekin' (an authorized volunteer to help new players) system. It is quite an old game, and most already know what they're doing. There is a tutorial world you can go through when you first start, but the interface itself doesn't necessarily hold your hand very well. Unfortunately, Furcadia is not the most new-player-friendly when it comes to explanations and tutorials. Read the below section on 'why is everyone afk?'
You can download the patches I made for this Dream on Roamheart.First, keep in mind we are trying to bring communities back. Strangely, there were also private rooms for senior staff members, and I recall a recurring issue in which staff would be asked to use the “push” commands to send a curious guest off into one of these rooms. Guests could exchange their game points for prizes, like special pillows to sit on, or temporary fun effects to use in the Dream. The games changed in each version, but often featured a foot-race or obstacle course (which was problematic because of Furcadia’s unpredictable ping times), a scavenger hunt or coin-digging game, and a “grab the things before time runs out” type game. A later version featured a “hatching sands”, an idea borrowed from Dragonriders of Pern, in which eggs could be incubated on hot sand. The Dream featured a “Play Yard”, where guests could bring their dragons to play games and explore together, as well as a café, medical ward, and dragon hygiene center.
After a roleplay bond was established, guests and dragons would proceed to a registration desk and agree to roleplay as adopter and adoptee. Guests and dragons would meet in an area called the “Pens”, where the dragons lived in temporary shelters awaiting adoption.
A large gray stone castle in the forest, housing a facility where guests can adopt a baby dragon, or play as a baby dragon to be adopted. One of my oldest Dreams ever, and also one of my most popular.
